Hachiko Talks About Shih Tzu
I’m Hachiko and today I’m introducing a dog that was once bred for emperors but now rules hearts everywhere: the Shih Tzu.
Originating from ancient China, the Shih Tzu was cherished in royal palaces, often resting beside emperors and empresses. But don’t let the royal history fool you this little dog isn’t snobby. It’s sweet, playful, and full of charm.
Shih Tzus are small, sturdy, and covered in long, flowing coats that come in a variety of colors from gold and white to black, brindle, and even liver.
Their round eyes sparkle with affection, and their short snouts give them that unmistakable, lovable face.
But what truly defines a Shih Tzu is their personality.
They’re friendly, affectionate, and people-oriented. They don’t bark excessively, they’re not demanding they just love being near you. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch or moving from room to room, your Shih Tzu will happily follow, like a soft, four legged shadow.
They get along well with children, strangers, and even other pets as long as everyone’s gentle.
Training is best with patience and kindness. They’re smart, but a little stubborn, so turning it into a game usually works better than strict commands.
They don’t need intense exercise short walks and indoor play are enough. But their coat? That’s royalty-level maintenance.
Daily brushing or regular grooming is a must to keep them clean and comfortable.
Health wise, they’re generally healthy but can be prone to breathing issues (due to their flat faces), eye problems, and dental concerns. Regular vet care and attention to hygiene go a long way.
Litters usually have 2 to 5 puppies round-faced fluffballs full of joy.
Today, I, Hachiko, had the pleasure of introducing a small dog with a big heart the Shih Tzu. Proof that kindness, not size, is what makes a companion unforgettable.
