Hachiko Talks About Schipperke
Not every dog needs to be big to be bold. Just look at the Schipperke small in size, but packed with courage, curiosity, and spirit.
These little black dogs come from Belgium, where they were bred to guard boats and shops in fact, their name means “little captain” in Flemish. They are natural watchdogs: alert, clever, and always ready to protect what they love.
Schipperkes are compact, with a thick black double coat, fox-like face, and pricked ears. They’re fast and agile, moving with purpose. And they don’t miss a thing their sharp eyes are always observing the world around them.
These dogs are intelligent and independent, with a streak of mischief. Training a Schipperke takes patience and consistency, but with kindness and positive reinforcement, they shine. They love learning and need mental and physical stimulation to stay happy.
Though small, they are full of energy. Regular walks, playtime, and new adventures are important. Without enough activity, they can easily get bored.
Health-wise, Schipperkes are generally hardy, but you should watch for eye issues and joint concerns. A good diet and regular care will keep them in excellent shape.
Litters usually have 3 to 7 puppies active, curious pups from the very start.
Today, I, Hachiko, had the joy of introducing this bold and lively little guardian to you.
