Hachiko Talks About Greyhound
I’m Hachiko and as I explore the world of dog breeds, some truly amaze me with their speed, grace, and gentle heart. The Greyhound is one of those special dogs.

With a history reaching back thousands of years, Greyhounds were bred for speed. In ancient Egypt, they hunted game across vast open lands. Today, they are famous as the fastest dog breed in the world capable of reaching speeds over 70 km/h.

But there’s more to a Greyhound than speed. They are slender and elegant, with a deep chest, long legs, and a narrow head. Their short, smooth coat comes in almost every color.

Greyhounds are known for their gentle and calm nature. Though built for running, they are surprisingly relaxed at home and enjoy spending quiet time with their family. They love to lounge close to their people and are incredibly affectionate.

Training a Greyhound is a joy they are intelligent and sensitive, responding well to kind, consistent guidance. And while they need space to run in short bursts, they don’t require hours of exercise each day.

Their short coat is easy to care for, though in cold weather they appreciate a warm jacket.

Health wise, Greyhounds are generally very healthy but can be prone to bloat and dental issues. Their lean frame also means they need soft bedding to stay comfortable.

Litters usually have 6 to 8 puppies long legged little ones who quickly grow into graceful runners.
