Hachiko Presents: Scottish Fold Cat, Standing In Bookstore
It was drizzling today. My paws were wet. The chill had reached all the way to my fur. I stopped in front of a small corner bookstore. The cat at the door caught my attention.

Cream colored fur, folded ears, eyes half asleep but full of depth... She was curled up right beside the door. As if she was sharing sleep with the scent of books.

Hachiko: Hello... Are you the cat of this place?

Scottish Fold (in a soft voice): This is my shelter. The language of books is quieter than the language of people. That’s why I stay here.

Hachiko: I don’t know you yet, but... many must recognize you because of your ears, right?

Scottish Fold: Yes. Everyone notices my ears first. They say, “How cute!” But no one ever asks how I feel. These ears make me look sweet... but sometimes they hurt. My cartilage is weak. Some days, I just want to lie still. But people want to hug me.

Hachiko (pauses for a moment): Even listening to someone as quiet as you feels valuable. I’d like to feature you on my website. People should not only see you they should hear you too.

Scottish Fold: Ok. I'm starting.

I am a Scottish Fold. I was born in Scotland and became known around the world for my folded ears. People think I look like a plush toy, But inside, I carry the patience of stone. I don’t talk much. I speak with my eyes.

My care seems simple. My fur is soft, But my joints are sensitive. I may not move quickly. So I like play, but with patience.

When it comes to food, I am balanced. Not too much, but it must be good. That’s what keeps me strong.

My kittens are like me. Quiet when born, slow to grow. I don’t give them noise I give them patience.

I get along with children. Especially the quiet ones, the ones who read. I don’t run from noise, But I choose calm. Yes, I like being loved. But gently.

Hachiko’s Final Word
Today, at the bookstore door, I met a moment of silence curled into a cat. Her ears were folded, But her heart stood straight.

The Scottish Fold whispers this to us What looks cute on the outside may hold a quiet depth within. To hear her, you don’t need ears. You just need a heart.
